Edinburgh Blues Club is delighted to bring you The Greig Taylor Band on Sunday 5th April, supported by Jed Potts. 

Live performances showcase Greig Taylor's exceptional band, including his trusted drummer Dave Cantwell (ex-Big Dish and collaborator with the iconic John Martyn), former Marianne Faithfull and Big Dish guitarist Brian McFie, original bassist for Zal Cleminson’s Sin Dogs, Nelson McFarlane, and Kenneth Clark on keyboards.

In 2024, the band toured across the UK, riding the wave of their acclaimed album 'The Light,' which secured a top 20 nomination for 'Album of the Year' at the UK Blues Awards and climbed to number five on the IBBA blues charts.
Their success was highlighted in prominent UK blues publications such as Blues in Britain and Blues Matters Magazine, alongside global airplay.

In 2025 the band release three AAA singles from their BIG DAWG BLUES recording session. The first release, BIG DAWG BLUES, reached number 5 in the UK IBBA charts, followed by their take on SALLY CAN’T DANCE. The final single is ‘Baby Stop Your Crying’, released on Feb 14th 2025.

  
Jed Potts is an Edinburgh-based guitarist and vocalist who will be well known to many Edinburgh Blues Club Members and to others who follow music in Scotland. He fronts Jed Potts & the Hillman Hunters and Under-Volt. He also plays with The Katet, The Blueswater, Nicole Smit, and occasionally with U.S. blues artist Brandon Santini.

Jed: “Blues is my musical ‘first-language’ and it infuses everything I play.

Jed has a strong connection with Brandon Santini and in late 2018 Jed travelled to the U.S. to play on Brandon’s album ‘The Longshot’. The album was produced by legendary engineer and producer Ben Elliott (Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Hubert Sumlin) at Showplace Studios in New Jersey. He toured in the U.S. in 2020 with Brandon, including a show at Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival in Florida.

Dave Scott of Blues in Britain Dave Scott reviewed the debut album by Jed Potts & the Hillman Hunters in June 2018, saying:

“This sensational eponymous debut album from the Edinburgh based trio comprises 1950s and early 60s blues classics and original material confirming this young band’s growing reputation in Scotland and beyond.”
