Franz Von, a Jamaican-born wordsmith now rooted in Sheffield’s vibrant hip-hop, afro, and soundsystem scene, brings his high-energy afrofusion sound to the Century Club on Friday 12 September for Soho Jazz Festival 2025. A MOBO-endorsed emcee, Franz blends rap, boom-bap, dancehall, and spoken word with powerful social commentary, combining Caribbean rhythms and UK underground textures in a uniquely dynamic style. Best known for fronting UK jazz-fusion ensemble TC & The Groove Family and afro-fusion powerhouse K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade, he returns to the spotlight as a solo artist with his debut album Take What You Want in 2025, following major support from outlets like BBC Introducing, Rinse FM, and Wonderland. At Century Club, expect an electrifying set that pulses with cultural resonance and genre-defying creativity.
