About Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy is an American rock band from Wilmette, Illinois, formed in 2001. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, lead guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley. The band originated from Chicago's hardcore punk scene, with which all members were involved at one point. The group was formed by Wentz and Trohman as a pop punk side project of the members' respective hardcore bands, and Stump joined shortly thereafter.
Biography:
Fall Out Boy was formed in 2001 in Wilmette, Illinois, by friends Pete Wentz and Joe Trohman. The two had been playing in local Chicago hardcore punk bands, and decided to start a new band together. They recruited drummer Andy Hurley and vocalist Patrick Stump, and the four became Fall Out Boy. The band released their debut album, Take This to Your Grave, in 2003. The album was a critical and commercial success, and was followed up by 2005's From Under the Cork Tree, which went double platinum. The band's fourth album, Folie à Deux, was released in 2008, and was the band's last album before their hiatus in 2009. The band reunited in 2013 and released their fifth album, Save Rock and Roll, in 2013. The band's sixth album, American Beauty/American Psycho, was released in 2015, and their seventh album, Mania, was released in 2018.
