J’ai créé KESSHIN à la fin des années 90 / début des années 2000, avec un style à mi-chemin entre le punk rock mélodique, le hardcore, l’emo et le rock alternatif. Deux titres de la précédente formation du groupe — « Resonance » et « One More Regret » — ont par la suite été repris dans le jeu Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell : Chaos Theory.

Plus de vingt ans plus tard, je suis en train de construire une nouvelle incarnation de KESSHIN autour de nouveaux morceaux et d’un nouveau line-up. Il ne s’agit pas d’un projet nostalgique ou de retrouvailles : j’ai déjà une dizaine de nouvelles chansons en cours d’écriture, et l’objectif est de monter un vrai groupe et de proposer un spectacle live percutant, tout en conservant les meilleurs éléments de l’identité originale de Kesshin.

Je suis avant tout auteur-compositeur et guitariste rythmique, mais je recherche des musiciens désireux d’apporter leur propre personnalité, leurs arrangements et leurs idées, plutôt que de se contenter de jouer des parties prédéfinies.

Je recherche actuellement un deuxième guitariste, un bassiste et un batteur, idéalement dans la région de Paris est (ex : studio la Luna Rossa) ou Marne-la-Vallée (studios File 7, l'Empreinte ou Les Cuizines).

I originally started Kesshin in the late ’90s / early 2000s, somewhere between melodic punk rock, hardcore, emo and alternative rock. Two tracks from the previous incarnation of the band — Resonance and One More Regret — were later featured in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

More than twenty years later, I’m now building a new incarnation of KESSHIN around new material and a new line-up. This isn’t a nostalgia or reunion project: I already have around ten new songs in development, and the goal is to build a proper band and a strong live show while keeping the best parts of Kesshin’s original identity.

Musically, my main references include No Use For A Name, Rise Against, AFI and Sum 41, with influences ranging from melodic hardcore and pop-punk to emo and alternative metal.

I’m primarily a songwriter and rhythm guitarist, but I’m looking for musicians who want to contribute their own personality, arrangements and ideas rather than simply play predetermined parts. I’m interested in a serious but realistic project: good preparation, rehearsals a few times a month, playing to a click when needed, and eventually getting the band properly back on stage.

I’m currently looking for a second guitarist, bassist and drummer, ideally around Paris / Marne-la-Vallée.

Strong backing vocals are a major plus. International and English-speaking musicians are especially welcome — fluent/native English is also a real bonus for harmonies, lyrics, phrasing and pronunciation.
