Piano up front, choruses everyone knows and songs that never really left the room. Max Anthony brings his Elton John show to Boisdale of Canary Wharf, leading an evening built around the melodic sweep, theatrical flair and muscular piano playing that made Elton’s catalogue so enduring.
This is not just a costume-led tribute. Anthony’s approach begins with the music itself, the rhythmic drive of the piano, the shape of the arrangements and the lift that comes when a great pop song meets a full live band. The set moves through defining favourites including "Tiny Dancer", "Rocket Man", "I’m Still Standing", "Your Song" and "Crocodile Rock", with the focus kept firmly on the songs that turned Elton John into one of the great popular songwriters of his era.
What began as a personal project recording Elton piano covers has grown into an internationally performed production, appearing on major cruise lines, festival stages, theatres and high-profile private events. Anthony performs with a band of seasoned professional musicians and places particular emphasis on live piano and bespoke arrangements, giving the show a musical depth that goes beyond surface resemblance.
